Be able to connect to a social community

Many studies have shown that the ability to bond with your new community is key to a student's continuing at a school and graduating. This is one of the main reasons why most schools have orientation programs and a variety of social opportunities as soon as you arrive on campus. They want to offer every opportunity right away for you to connect with other people. So assert yourself, don't hide. Take a risk and join in -- you'll be glad you did.
