Marcia Hanlon has been a licensed clinical social worker for more than 19 years. She worked in colleges for 12 years, primarily as a psychotherapist helping students with adjustment problems and personal crises. She also was an adjunct professor, an advisor to a student “theme” residence house, served on various faculty/staff committees and began her career in colleges as an Assistant Sports Information Director.

Since opening a private counseling practice, she has focused on career/college advising: first working with AT&T and Lucent Technologies employees making career transitions and now focusing on traditional age students seeking admission to the colleges of their choice.

She is a member of the Illinois Association for College Admission Counseling, Higher Education Consultants Association and the National Career Development Association.
